You all are either the 2nd Generation, some 3rd generation, with some members of
the 1st Generation of The Fitzgeralds of North Creek, NY (with every right to be very proud of it), or you are some of our greatest friends.
Anyway we have a website setup for of us to do our shopping from! Please see www.ourgvmall.com/fitzgeralds and check it out first hand.
Now how this works is: you, your in-laws, out-laws, and friends shop on line in the many stores (over 1,600) listed on that site. When you sign into a store, such as Wal-Mart, make sure that the second page contains the ID number 29364.
Each store shows how much percentage that they return to OurGV, of which 80% will go to the new "Fitzgeralds Reunion Fund." So what is the "Fitzgeralds Reunion Fund????" Well, it's a fund that we set up to benefit the Fitzgeralds when shopping is done through OurGV. There are many such funds and they can be set up for many different purposes.
Note that you are not paying more for what you purchase - it's just that the rebate the web merchant usually receives is being shared, with us in this case. This money, which can add up quickly if you shop using this website, will be used however we want it to be used: a majority of our 2nd Generation will decide.
I am just the temporary treasurer of this account, under the leadership of Dr. Lizanne Krell: Commander of the 2nd Generation. I will do this job until the Commander can find a volunteer to replace me.
Please take this seriously, as plenty of money can be involved. What are your ideas for how we should use the profits? Please send your ideas to Lizanne so we can take some kind of vote. There is only one rule, and that is: "Dem who don’t buy – don’t get!" For example, we could finance future reunions (family cruise, anyone?), give a family member some financial assistance, do a lottery within the family, rebate those who buy on the site on Dec 1st in time for Christmas... The possibilities are endless!
An important side benefit, and one that costs you nothing, happens if you install the OurGV toolbar. Anytime you click your new toolbar or order from any of the stores, OurGV donates to our favorite charities.
